Mother Nature really did her part for this early fall wedding at one of my favorite locations – Brookshire in Delaware, Ohio. The air was fresh, the leaves had just started to turn to their autumn hues. Anna and Jack’s color palette was perfect for the season. Instead of being matchy-matchy, Anna had her bridesmaids showcase their personality by selecting dresses in different styles and colors. Anna allowed her bridal party to pick the dress of their preference. The bridesmaids and groomsmen’s individual personalities shined through in these outfits but still had a cohesive and classy look. Deep purples, rich oranges, and blush pinks in the bouquets tied everything together. This helped maintain the color theme from ceremony to reception.
Most couples think they’ve covered everything when it comes to planning their wedding day, but Anna and Jack took details to the next level. The bride and groom chose a signature scent that they purchased to wear just for the day. Science has proven that scent is powerfully linked to our emotions and memories. Choosing a new perfume or cologne just for your wedding will create an association in your brain for the memories you experience while noticing the scent. When you wear it again on future occasions, it will subconsciously evoke the wonderful memories of your wedding day!
After getting ready, Anna spent some time with her close friends and family. Anna’s bridesmaids participated in a first look, after which they joined the moms in praying a blessing over Anna. She and Jack met back to back for a first touch. During which they shared their vows with just one another. Taking time to have these meaningful moments in all of the hustle and bustle of the events is worth every second. Brookshire is the perfect venue for not only fall weddings but outdoor events as well. They offer a wide variety of services to help you host the perfect event.
We were granted the most beautiful mild weather for their ceremony. Each moment was carefully planned to reflect their love not only for each other, but also their reverence of God. This shows thier inclusion of Him in their relationship. As a symbol of their commitment to love and serve one another as deeply as Christ loved his disciples, Jack and Anna performed a foot washing ceremony. This tradition goes back to times when people walked barefoot or in sandals through the desert. Therefore, this tradition being one of the most humbling acts performed, washing the feet of a loved one.
Overall, Anna and Jack’s wedding was a fantastic example of how couples should follow their hearts when planning. Brides and grooms hear a lot of opinions telling them what they should do, based on trend or tradition. However, at the end of the day, it’s a celebration of YOUR love and it’s for YOU! Take time to discuss with your partner what the most important elements of your day will be. Discuss what old traditions you want to uphold, and what new traditions you’ll create together. This Brookshire fall wedding was an absolute dream. I am so excited to watch this happy couple continue to grow!
